Jak to działa

How it works

The saw runs on a chain laid around the pipe, not on the operator’s arm. That is the only reason the cut meets itself back at the starting point.

J The guide chain on the pipe

Przebieg pracy

  1. 01

    Laying the chain

The fixed guide chain wraps the pipe 205 mm from the cut line and sets the plane. That chain, not the operator's arm, decides where the blade goes.

  2. 02

    Mounting the saw

The saw sits on the guide chain and the roller chain locks it from underneath the pipe. It needs 35 cm of clearance, so it fits a tight trench.

  3. 03

    Connecting the hydraulics

Supply from a power pack: flow 23 to 26 l/min at 140 to 160 bar. The saw needs a three-line source, because a separate line returns pump leakage.

  4. 04

    Cutting round the pipe

The operator pulls the carriage by the guide tube, against the blade rotation, and switches to the other side of the pipe halfway round. The cut meets itself at the starting point, with no spiral.

An operator in a helmet guides the circumferential saw along a pipe in the trench
  • Check that there is 35 cm of clearance around the pipe over the whole circumference.
  • Set the adjustable blade guard to the diameter of the pipe being cut.
  • Connect a three-line supply: 23 to 26 l/min, 140 to 160 bar, with a leakage line.
  • On steel pipes connect the water spray. Without water, sparks shorten the life of the guide belt.
  • Keep the feed even. Pressing the blade does not speed up the cut, it jams it.
  • When cutting a pipe in a live pipeline, drive spreader wedges every 60 degrees so the gap cannot pinch the blade.
  • The second operator stays at the power pack for the whole cut.
  • Under load the noise exceeds 100 dBA. Ear protection, no exceptions.
